OVERALL PURPOSE OF POSITION:

The purpose of the Tradesperson (Electrical) is to carry-out repairs at all Enemed’s Plants and depots. They are to assist the Team Leader in the electrical and electronic diagnostic of faults on all power equipment and control systems.

DUTIES & RESPONSABILITIES:

• The Tradesperson (Electrical) shall be directly responsible for the following:
• Carries out preventive maintenance and repairs to electrical plant and equipment in accordance with the Company approved SOPs to ensure smooth and safe operations of same. This includes both the operational state of the equipment and the general upkeep in accordance with Company branding and marketing standards.
• Cooperates with the Electrical Coordinator, Team Leaders and the Storekeeper about spare parts.
•  Ensures that they are thoroughly familiar with the contents of risk assessments and work-permits before commencing the maintenance works.
• Carries out new electrical installations on plant and vehicles according to pre-prepared plans with little or no supervision. This includes the fabrication of brackets, cutting of trenches and drill holes in stone or concrete surfaces to lay conduit pipes, and the fabrication and laying of cable trays.
• Attends courses in related engineering and managerial skills, as instructed by the Maintenance Manager.
• To perform other related duties as assigned by Management related to the job description.

QUALIFICATIONS & WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIRED TO MEET POSITION OBJECTIVES:

• In possession of license A is a must.
• Possession of license B will be considered an asset. If not available, the person must be ready to get the license during the probation period.
• Preferably has 2 years’ work experience (or student work phase period) in a heavy plant environment.

TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIRED:

• Basic knowledge in the electronics, control, and communication engineering field.
• Familiar with basic mechanical engineering terms and techniques.
• Basic knowledge electrical control systems.
• Must be computer literate.
• Good technical English.

PERSONAL SKILLS & COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:

• Must have good communications skills.
• Be ready to work in a team.

HEALTH REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be able to work in confined spaces and at heights.
• Must be in good enough general health to carry out his/her duties under pressing needs and a demanding environment.
